Beginning with cattle that were the original Lasater Beefmaster phenotype provided an exceptional cow herd for use in development of our herd. 

The introduction of new genetics to these cows has resulted in heifers which have clean, bladed underlines and bulls that have properly angled sheaths and clean underlines. 

While carefully avoiding breeding that results in "tight cattle" and other associated detrimental characteristics, Rancho Tres Hijos has opted for a more balanced set of cattle but one that clearly pays attention to underline, size, and conformation. We believe that our cattle are more in line with the desired characteristics of today’s beef buyer.
