Beefmaster Six Essentials: | Conformation | Disposition | Fertility | Hardiness | Milking Ability | Weight
Growth of the calves that are being raised at Rancho Tres Hijos is important. Calves are typically small at birth but the genetics have been selected so that they grow rapidly and reach high weights at weaning. Calves are weighed at weaning and at one year of age.
Performance records are carefully watched with particular attention to weights and scrotal measurements of bull calves at weaning and at one year of age. Rancho Tres Hijos participates in the Whole Herd Reporting Program of BBU with weights and measures.
The large, long bodied mother cows in our herd that embody the original Beefmaster concepts help assure us that their offspring will have outstanding growth and gain ability. Long cattle will weigh more at the packing house.
